What ContextCard does
ContextCard is a Chrome extension that reads your AI chat conversations (on Claude.ai, ChatGPT, and Gemini) when you click Save Session, sends that text to Anthropic's API to generate a structured summary, and stores the resulting summary locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local.
Data we collect
- Your Claude API key — stored in
chrome.storage.localon your device only. Never transmitted anywhere except toapi.anthropic.comto generate summaries. - Conversation text — read from the page when you click Save Session. Sent to
api.anthropic.comonce to generate a summary, then discarded. The resulting summary is stored locally only. - Saved session summaries — stored in
chrome.storage.localon your device. Never transmitted to any server.
Data we do NOT collect
- No account required. No registration.
- No analytics or usage tracking.
- No data sent to the extension developer.
- No advertising data.
- No browsing history outside of AI chat pages.
Third-party services
The only external service this extension communicates with is api.anthropic.com (Anthropic, PBC) for AI summarization.

Data storage
All data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. Uninstalling the extension deletes all stored data.
Your rights
You can delete all saved sessions at any time from the extension's options page. Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data.
